Practical guide

What to check before choosing a gambling blocker.

The useful questions are specific: which devices are protected, what ends the block, and what happens if you try to change it?

Match the devices and browsers you use

List the devices where gambling is accessible: your Windows PC, phone, tablet and any other computer. Check each product’s supported operating systems and installation limits. A Windows download does not protect every device on the same Wi-Fi.

Also check browser profiles, private windows, VPNs and separate apps. “Works on Windows” is not enough to establish all of that coverage. WagerLock’s public download is Windows x64 software. One account also covers one Android device using its private preview APK; its browser and network limits are described here.

Know when the protection ends

Look for the difference between a protection commitment and a billing subscription. Ask whether a trial ending, failed payment or canceled renewal changes protection immediately or at the end of the current access period.

With WagerLock, the earlier of the chosen duration or trial/paid access boundary ends the block. Removing the desktop app leaves the service installed. A subscription renewal does not by itself extend a finished protection duration.

Decide whether accountability is useful

Check whether an accountability contact is required or optional, what events create an alert, and what the recipient sees. Permission and recipient opt-out matter. A sponsor should understand the arrangement before being added.

WagerLock sponsors are optional. Email alerts work now; texting is coming soon. The user cannot change or remove a saved sponsor, while the recipient can opt out. A phone-only contact does not receive alerts yet.

Read the price and privacy details

Compare the actual renewal period, not just a monthly equivalent for an annual purchase. Check trial payment requirements, renewal, cancellation and device limits. WagerLock is $5/month or $50/year USD after a 3-day trial that requires a payment method. The annual plan is billed as $50 per year.

Understand what reaches a server or another person. WagerLock sponsor alerts describe protection-change attempts and do not include browsing history or gambling estimates. Read the pricing details and the privacy summary before subscribing.

A blocker is a technical barrier. You may also want separate account or payment restrictions depending on the routes you want to close.

Block gambling websites on your Windows PC.

Start with a 3-day trial. A payment method is required; renews at $5/month or $50/year. A sponsor is optional.
